For 2025 and 2026, The Absolute Best Thing starts at $15,000.
Design, rental, delivery, setup and breakdown costs are borne by us in almost all cases. We will work with your furniture rental company, florist, and pipe and drape company; should you not already have any of these for your event, we will source our own, doing our own pickup and dropoff if necessary; all of this is included in our rate.
Our standard build requires at least 15’ x 18’ of space to set up our portrait studio, which incorporates a 90 degree v-shape of pipe and drape, a shooting stage with rental furniture, floral arrangements and props, and lighting equipment. If the same-night printing or the instant film option is selected, there will also be a digital workstation, which requires electrical access.
We can customize your build to suit your event. If you want elements beyond the standard furniture and floral, we can work with you to make it happen! Also, we are not restricted to location or country: wherever your event is, we can work with you, although additional fees may be incurred if we need to arrange delivery to a non-US or non-major city, or if custom, exotic, or bulky props are involved.
Additional Options:
Same-Night Printing:
We will bring a live editor that will edit photos to perfection and print guest portraits in glossy 8x10 on professional photo paper. Each printed photo will be matted and be presented for pickup by the end of the night.
Our Same-Night Printing is an additional $5,000.
On-site Fashion Stylist:
We will bring a professional stylist that can smooth down hair, primp guests, spritz a bit of hairspray, straighten ties, arrange and tuck clothing, and get guests looking their magazine-cover best before they pose in front of the camera.
Our On-Site Fashion Stylist is an additional $5,000.
Instant Film:
Photographs will be taken on a 90-year-old vintage camera, modified to use modern instant film (Fuji Instax Wide). Guests will be able to see their photo develop in real-time. Each photo is scanned before being presented to guests to take home. Not compatible with Same-Night Printing.
Our Instant Film option is an additional $5,000.
Large-Format Film:
Photographs will be taken on a 100-year-old vintage camera, on 4” x 5” Kodak large-format film. Photos will be developed, scanned and edited, and presented in an online gallery one month after the event. Not compatible with Same-Night Printing.
Our Large-Format Film option is an additional $8,000.
Wet-Plate Collodion:
Photographs will be taken on a vintage camera, on the historic 19th-century wet-plate collodion process. Photos will be developed on-site on 4” x 5” metal sheets and scanned, and guests will be able to take home their one-of-a-kind heirlooms the same night. Not compatible with Same-Night Printing.
Our Wet-Plate Collodion option is an additional $10,000.
Full Carpentry Build:
Our team will concept an entire bespoke studio build, construct your custom set, transport the set to your outdoor site, and assemble the portrait studio of your dreams in the days before your event. This option cannot be overstated - it will be the absolute best thing you have ever seen.
